General
Information
CALAM Training is a
recognised training institution of Queensland Baptists and
enjoys a fraternal relationship with Malyon College (formerly
the Queensland Baptist College of Ministries) in Brisbane. The
Principal is appointed by the Assembly of Queensland Baptists,
and is directly accountable to the General Superintendent of
Queensland Baptists.
To date, the
following organisations have recognised the training undergone
by graduates now in their service: Youth For Christ
(Zimbabwe), Mission to Queensland, the Global interAction,
SIM, Asia Pacific Christian
Mission, Scripture Union, Australian Federation of
Evangelical Students.
From the
founding of the North Queensland College of Ministries in
1986, we have affirmed without reservation the total
truthfulness of Holy Scripture and the great principles of
historic orthodoxy. We commit ourselves to stand and contend
for those evangelical essentials embodied in our confessional
standard.
-
-
When denominational distinctives are
examined, various perspectives will be shared, but nothing
taught contrary to the doctrinal statement.
-
All efforts are made to preserve both the
theological integrity and the interdenominational variety of
our faculty as a resource of ministry for the entire
evangelical community.
We
Believe...
Christians from different
Denominations can be assured...
-
The views of other Christians will be
respected at all times.
-
Students belonging to other denominations
are welcome to worship in churches of their own
denominations, and efforts will be made to have their field
work assigned through their own churches under the guidance
of their own ministers.
-
Friendly discussions and exchanges of points
of view are encouraged as part of the learning process.
CALAM Training discourages aggressive propagation of any
controversial interpretation, or extreme theological
position. Students will appreciate a climate of loving
acceptance of one another as students and lecturers alike
submit themselves to the authority of the Word of
God.
