The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is designed to provide workplace trainers and personnel within the vocational education and training, with a range of training skills including: preparing and presenting training sessions, developing training programs, evaluating and assessing participants to ensure learning outcomes have been achieved.
All candidates should be working in or have access to an operating training and assessment environment such as an RTO, a training sector in an enterprise, government or community organisation, or training services applied in a voluntary agency. Candidates without a suitable workplace are encouraged to find other practice and assessment environments.
Generally, students require from 6 months to a year to complete this qualification. However, it may also be completed over several years part-time. The course is delivered by distance mode or blended mode (workbook and face-to-face intensive).
The older Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) was in teach-out mode until May 2012.
This means all students currently enrolled have until May 2012 to complete the older qualification. All new students seeking to enrol after May 2011 must enrol in TAE40110.
